Congenital Optic Disc Drusen Misdiagnosed As Benign Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension

A 16 year old female, was referred by the neuro-physician for evaluation and management of decrease visual acuity in left eye papilledema, she diagnosed Benign Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. She under treatment 4 years papilledema. Visual 6/6 right 1/60 eye. Slit lamp examination normal. Fundoscopy showed lumpy appearances optic nerve heads with vessels macula normal, both eyes. Her B scan ultrasonography Computerized Tomography were carried out that revealed buried disc drusen a cause pseudo-papilledema. On General had typical Cushingoid features developed due to excess steroid therapy prescribed.This casehighlights importance identifying drusen, being misdiagnosed treated as true papilledema secondary
